This is an EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY advertising piece for the Lexington, KY trots which were held at the Red Mile Racetrack Sept. 24 thru Oct 4 (unknown year). This 20" x 4 1/2" advertising item was made by The Fair Publishing House in New London, OH, probably in the 40's. (The Fair Publishing House made A LOT of neat things for county fairs and other entities) I have some similar manufactured pieces from the Darke County Fair that were made in the mid-1940's, and there are a lot of similarities. The red plastic is relatively clear, and reflects the material behind it to give it a reflective look. There are strips that appear to be galvanized on each end (two on each end) that leads me to believe that this was designed to be mounted to common field fence with the straps holding it in place.

The item is for all intents and purposes NOS. Nice piece that seems to be very rare. If you are a collector of Red Mile Racetrack memorabilia, this is something you will enjoy. I've tried to provide good pictures, but it's hard to describe the eye appeal that it offers.
