Description
Antique Solid Brass Self-Balancing Demonstration Gravitational Gyroscope
This is a rare antique gravitational gyroscope, very well made.
U-shaped frame holding the centre ring and rotation disk.
The gyroscope slots into the heavy base
'Gravitational gyroscopes are often used for demonstrations in physics. The experiment is used to show how a spinning rotor resists changes to its orientation due to the angular momentum of the wheel. A phenomenon also known as gyroscopic inertia or rigidity in space, gyroscopes have been central to the development of navigational instruments.'
Perfect for a collector, display or physics demonstration
Measurements:
Height - 37cm
Diameter of the U frame - 16cm
Centre disk diameter - 10cm
Weight - 4570g
