A vintage 1940-1952 postal brass letter balance scales with Inland Letter Rates plaque which were Made In England.
The scales stand approximately 3 in (76 mm) high on a wooden base measuring 7.25 in (184 mm) x 3.85 in (98 mm) which has 4 short rubber feet to the underside.
The set comes with 5 various brass weights i.e. 2 oz, 1 oz, 1/2 oz x 2  and a 1/4 oz weight.
They are not original to the scales and the 2oz weight is stamped CRANE with ER 65.
The scales are in very good working condition and all items have good colour and patina with expected marks commensurate with age and use.
