first things first- all of this is in the public domain so this is only for collectors of cool, old weird stuff and history sticklers of the absolute highest magnitude.

this is 1 of 556? copies published by J. B. Peterson & Brothers of Philadelphia in 1865.  so it is rare.

its full title is: 

it contains the whole of the suppressed evidence;  background of the assassination, the details of the trial testimony, and sensationalized accounts of the last hours and execution of the conspirators.

i bought this at a yard sale in either Lawrence KS or Kansas City MO in the mid 1980's.

measurements are 10 x 6.25 x 3 5/8

this very original and illustrated piece of americana in hardcover book form is complete, with all pages.

that being said, there is some staining and a few loose pages at the front, foxing and slight discoloration on edges throughout.  the rest of the book fares much better, but the pages are thin and delicate.  it should be handled with care.  see pictures please..

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER, but just for a price reference, there was a copy just like this on Abebooks a year ago with the asking price of $4,000.00+ dollars- it is not there anymore so i don't know if it sold or what.  there is a similar edition (different publisher) on alincolnbookshop.com going for $1.850.00 and a Ben Perley Poore (washington correspondant) version, The Conspiracy Trial for the Murder of the President going for $4,500.00, so i'm comfy with my outlandish asking price and totally willing to leave this up for however long.
