~Vintage~ RARE!! Cosmetic/Train Vanity box Made in Canada.

Condition: Used Vintage

I believe this box to be from the 1970’s possibly 1960’s however it could be older. It’s in very good condition except for the original mirror inside. You can still use the mirror but the reflection isn’t clear. The mirror needs replaced, however I chose not to make any changes to the piece in order to keep the authenticity.

Some faint swirls on the patent leather due to previous improper cleaning but it is not very noticeable unless the light catches it just right (I used the flash to try to capture this). The patent leather has some wear due to age. Inside is clean and the lining is in good condition.

The box is very sturdy and has a thick, sturdy patent leather strap that swivels. The gold-tone latches, hinges, and strap pivot points show obvious signs of aging with some oxidation present. The top of the lid is padded while the sides and bottom are all hard. Small metal feet on all 4 corners of the bottom. The latches are in good working order and appear to have once had a key to lock it but unfortunately the key no longer exists. The box is accessible by pushing a small button on the bottom of each latch. When each button is pushed upward, the latch will flip up and the box can then be opened.

Has a faint musty odor inside, indicative of vintage luggage/trunks.

No rips, stains or tears.

Overall, a very unique, rare box. Have yet to find one like it.
