Building on the immense success of its predecessor, the Fluval FX6 High Performance Canister Filter delivers unparalleled filtration for freshwater and marine aquariums up to 400 gallons in size. Engineered to maintain the cleanest and clearest water, this super-capacity canister filter is packed with innovative features designed to improve performance, simplify operation, and enhance the overall fishkeeping experience. The Fluval FX6 comes equipped with a powerful 925 gph pump that operates at a very modest 43 watts of electricity. This translates to 563 gph of effective multi-stage filtration, creating a cleaner and healthier aquarium environment. Incoming water passes through a heavy-duty telescopic strainer to prevent clogging, and filtered water is returned to the aquarium via a dual, multi-directional output nozzle that can be adjusted to create specific water flow patterns.

To ensure optimal performance, the FX6 features patented Smart Pump Technology (SPT). This advanced, self-regulating system constantly monitors the pump, measuring impeller force and speed to maintain powerful output, super-quiet operation, and energy-efficiency. Enhanced motor technology also allows the new and improved FX6 to outperform the earlier FX5, while consuming 10% less energy. The multi-stage Fluval FX6 boasts a remarkable 5.9 L media capacity, and comes complete with all the media required for high-powered filtration. Filter media is housed in 3 stackable baskets that can be fully customized to suit the unique needs of your aquarium. The baskets are precision engineered to eliminate bypass, and each is lined with a foam insert for effective mechanical pre-filtering. Instant-release t-handles allow easy lifting and separation of the media baskets for effortless maintenance and media substitutions.

The Fluval FX6 offers an assortment of features designed for user-friendly installation, operation, and maintenance. The included Click-Fit AquaStop valves allow quick setup and leak-free maintenance. These valves rotate and are positioned at a 45 degree angle for increased accessibility during the installation process. A self-starting feature activates the FX6 without the need for priming, and purges unwanted air that may have entered the filter during setup. Every 12 hours, the pump shuts down automatically and the air evacuation process is repeated to ensure uncompromising performance. For a significant reduction in vibration and noise, rubber feet have been added to the bottom and a leak free assembly makes maintenance and installation a walk in the park. A telescopic stem and anti clog strainer add to the already incredibly functionality and ease of use.

Finally, the FX6 includes a handy purge valve with drain hose for maintenance and flushing of the canister, and a water change feature that puts an end to awkward and inconvenient bucket carrying!
