Experience your music like never before with our Taptic Engine mod for iPods. Enjoy an immersive haptic feedback experience that adds a new dimension to your music listening.

The Taptic mod involves replacing the iPod's traditional internal speaker with a Taptic engine, which provides haptic feedback through vibrations. The Taptic engine is a premade mechanism that we provide for you to install in your iPod. The installation process can be technically challenging and depending on the option you choose will require soldering skills. If you're not comfortable with DIY installations, we recommend seeking professional help, or a friend who can solder that you can bribe into helping you.

I've developed a method of preparing these so that risk of the solder joints breaking is minimized as much as possible. This is the only reason I've felt comfortable in selling them premade for others who can't or don't want to deal with soldering and preparing a taptic engine. I've just started selling these (April 2023) and have sold a dozen so far and haven't heard anything yet about them arriving broken. Make sure to test the functionality BEFORE you close your ipod's case back up in case something is not right.

One tip I've found so far: If the engine is making noise but not producing any haptic feedback; the linear actuator inside of the engine is jammed, and a gentle but firm and precise flick of it with your finger can usually unjam it. This is done at your own risk, though, and should be gentle above all else. Once these are installed the risk of that happening is very low of course, or you'd hear about iPhones constantly needing new taptic engines, but when theyre out in the open and have the potential of being dropped or accidentally banged against something its easy for them to jam.

Each unit is tested and confirmed working before shipping, but please note that the Taptic mods are delicate and we are not responsible for any damage done to them by the buyer. We cannot accept returns or refunds due to installation errors.

Each order will come with their mod carefully packaged in antistatic bags and include a brief set of guidelines as well as links to online resources for installation tips
