A lovely Bosnian Blue Squareish Kilim from 1930's. Made with natural colours (don't put in the washing machine!) by the legendary Sarajevo Kilim Factory.
It is 44 by 48 cm in size not including the fringes.
The
Sarajevo Kilim Factory was opened during the Austro-Hungarian period,
in the late 19th century. The kilims were made using special wax-treated
wool imported from New Zealand, while they were designed in Vienna
based on traditional Bosnian patterns. An original Sarajevo Kilim
Factory rug is a rare find and appreciated by experts around the world.
