This is a masterpiece by *Choko Nishituka, a renowned craftsman of Wajima-nuri

*Choko Nishitsuka (西塚朝光 1888 to 1976).

The technique of densely sprinkling the sprinkled Gold powder and creating a thick pear skin texture is called "koi-nashiji or tsume-nashiji".

By making the base coat of Urushi lacquer red, the color shows through the tiny gaps between the sprinkled Gold powder, resulting in a bright, reddish and gorgeous finish.
