Description
This item is a drop in replacement mod for the original Xbox gaming console. It replaces the noisy original equipment fan with an extremely quiet Nexus brand fan. After installing, you will notice a substantial decrease in fan noise from the console.
Our testing has shown that the GPU runs 5° Celsius cooler and the CPU also runs 5° C cooler with our modification versus just a Nexus fan on its own. Lower temperatures improve the life of electronics. This makes the modification a fair bit superior to just using the Nexus fan alone. A 60mm Noctua fan also runs hotter than either of these configurations and makes just as much noise.
Installation is relatively easy and can be done with a T20 and T10 screwdriver and about 15 minutes of time. There is no cutting or soldering involved. Everything plugs right into place as the original pieces do. Check our our installation manual for details of the installation.
