This is the first Moomin print ever used for commercial purposes and was exclusively made for Stockmann luxury department store in Helsinki in 1956. A series of 4 prints printed by Kromipaino Helsinki in 1956 were recently discovered and are now available to the public for the first time. The Moomin characters were designed by Tove Jansson, the famous Swedish-speaking Finnish novelist, painter and illustrator who is widely known and celebrated as the author of the Moomins comic series. Each print is limited and numbered from a set of 4 different images. Matted ready for framing.
