Dior by Raf Simons is the sixth volume in this unprecedented series of books devoted to each designer of the house of Dior, the ultimate compendium of the most memorable haute couture creations conceived and handcrafted by the esteemed couture house since its inception.
In 2012, Dior turned to modernist Belgian designer Raf Simons to take the renowned couture house in a new direction. After launching his eponymous avant-garde menswear label in 1995, and helming Jil Sander for six years, Simons brought a contemporary edge to Dior’s romantic legacy, marrying his signature streamlined aesthetic with Dior’s poetic femininity.
Originally graduating from the Higher Institute for Visual Communication and Design in Genk, Belgium, with a degree in industrial and furniture design, he turned his sharp sensibility to fashion, with innovation, individuality and an eclectic fusion of music, performance and art in his creative process.
Featuring perceptive text by noted fashion journalist Tim Blanks, this volume showcases Raf Simons’s most distinctive haute couture designs for Dior, from Autumn-Winter 2012 to Autumn-Winter 2015.
Of all the great Parisian couture houses, Dior is perhaps the most famous and prestigious in the world, embodying Christian Dior’s sublime vision of femininity. Carefully conserved in the world’s great museums and institutions, these fashion treasures have been lovingly photographed by Laziz Hamani and exclusively compiled for this indispensable collection.
This magnificent book is a large Hardcover with Dust Jacket measuring just shy of 15"x 12" x 2 in, has 344 pages with 225 illustrations, printed in English. Originally Released in May 2023 publication will soon be in stock and ready to ship within a week or so. It weighs a whopping 10 lb. Brand new direct from Assouline, still sealed in shrinkwrap in the original box. This is the English language edition, but it is also available in French by Special Order!All seven editions in the series are shown right, and I carry all 6 that have been released. Because the post office is so incredibly inept, I ONLY SHIP domestic packages INSURED, which is AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED in the shipping cost, and that is not free as the post office charges for it. If your parcel gets lost OR damaged in freight, your item will be replaced if one is available OR you will be completely refunded!
IMPORTANT MONEY SAVING TIP! If you are buying more than one of my items and would like to SAVE MONEY by COMBINING SHIPPING costs, I will be happy to do so, but eBay has now made it more difficult to get discounts by confusing people with "Buy it Now" and "Add to Cart" options on non-auction style pages. If you are buying one item from a seller use the Buy it Now. BUT IF YOU WANT COMBINED or FREE SHIPPING, DO NOT USE THE BUY IT NOW button! Instead, select ADD TO CART. It is far less expensive than Priority Mail, but - it ..... is ........... slooowwwww!!!! Despite USPS claims of 3-9 day delivery times, MEDIA MAIL CAN actually TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS to arrive, and their tracking info is frequently not updated until it actually arrives, making that feature pretty useless! PLEASE remember this when you leave feedback scores as the choice is yours and not my fault if it takes a long time to get there! If you want it in a week or less, you are going to have to bite the bullet and pay for Priority Mail which will get it there in 2-3 working days, 99% of the time, but it is more expensive. Basically, the choice is yours, but if you choose media mail, please don't write to me in 5 days asking where your package is, because the post office will have it and most of the time, they don't have a clue!
