1880 Panama Canal French Bond on watermarked paper, number 0,231,077.  Compagnie Universelle Canal Interoceanique de Panama bond issued for the building of the Panama Canal, brown Fiscal indicating 1889 payment tied by the appropriate handstamp, 5 additional coupons attached.  The French abandoned the building of the Canal after many workers contracted Yellow Fever and died.  Fresh with minor edge faults.  Size: 12¼" x 10½".
