We present a super quality marine landscape in oils, a t-class clipper in full sail. The work is signed lower right, Castle, the pseudonym of the Newhaven, Sussex- based marine artist, Erik Harvey (British, 1924 - 2017). The painting dates c1970s. Working in oils and acrylic oils, this example is typical of Harvey’s marine portraiture landscapes:. fine attention to detail, almost an architectural representation. Erik Harvey was self-taught and mostly exhibited his paintings with art societies in the south of England, where he was based. Early in his career, Erik Harvey was one of the (many) aspiring artists to show and sell their work, tied to the railings of Kensington Palace Gardens in Hyde Park, London, on Sunday mornings. Presented in very good condition its original frame, this painting looks fabulous displayed
