Description
This is a nice, still “crispy”, lightly circulated, 50,000 Pesos Bolivianos note from the "Banco Central de Bolivia". This note is dated June 5, 1984.
The note pictures Gualberto Villarroel Lopez, a soldier, politician, and President of the Military Government Junta in 1943 and 1944, provisional President in 1944 and 1945 and constitutional President in 1945 and 1946.
On July 21, 1946, he was overthrown by a mob, who took him out of the Government Palace to drag him through the square while he was stabbed and cruelly beaten, and once he was dead, they hung him.
