RARE Salvador Teran Sterling Silver & Emeralds Modernist Brooch & Earrings Set.

***************DESIGNER SET***************

Salvador Teran, one of the great designer/silversmiths of the Mexican silver renaissance, worked with William Spratling at Taller de Las Delicias before joining his cousins at their new taller Los Castillo. Salvador worked at Los Castillo from 1939 to 1952, when he struck out on his own and established his taller "La India Bonita".

This remarkable c. 1960 Salvador brooch pin and earrings set is very rarely seen. Beautifully handcrafted of sterling silver and raw emeralds, the Modernist design is quite striking. The matching earrings each feature 2 stones and measure 1 1/4" x 7/8". One earring is marked Silver Mexico and eagle 36, the other Silver Mexico 180. All pieces are in excellent condition without issue, pin and earring backs fully operational. A gorgeous, highly collectible set from a world class designer.
