Mickey Mantle Roger Maris New York Yankees 1962 World Series Vintage Press Photo

1962 vintage press photo measures 8" x 8", and pictures New York Yankees Mickey Mantle snagging a fly ball in right center field as Roger Maris prepares back-up in the 1962 World Series. The Yankees would go on to win the Series four games to three over Willie Mays and the San Francisco Giants.

This 1962 World Series Championship would be Mickey Mantle's 7th title in 10 appearances, over 12 seasons through '62. 1962 would be Mantle's last World Series Championship.  But adding the 1963 and 1964 World Series Yankee appearances (both losses), The Mick made it to the World Series an incredible 12 out of his first 14 seasons.

After this 1962 W.S. Championship, the Yankees would have to wait until the Reggie Jackson Yankees years to win another, winning the Series in 1977 and 1978.

The photo is in nice overall condition, with some creasing, publication cropping marks, and a raised area on the front from a typed date on the back, noticeable when held at an angle. This is a vintage photo from 1962, not a modern reproduction.
