Vintage WW2 Brass Barrel Marine Barometer, with original box.


Marked: Wilson Warden & Co Ltd - London, Aneroid Barometer, Compensated For Temperate, Mark II, MO (Monogram - Meteorology Office) 22087/45 (the 45 relates to the date of manufacture) Marked to the back, Mark II and MO again.


Very rare to be accompanied by the original cardboard box. Marked with Crown, 45 and the corresponding serial number. 


Broad-arrow mark which indicated military issue.

The Meteorological Office was part of the Air Ministry and were responsible for managing the affairs of the Royal Air Force, and this barometer was produced for the War effort around 1940, for use on military weather stations, airfields or onboard ship.


Good condition for age and in working order. Some superficial wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing. Some deterioration to the box.
