Russian
Cossacks shashka model of 1881, made in 1899.
Very
nice example of shashka made during the Russian Empire. The blade is in
excellent condition with marks by the hilt: ZWF – Zlatoust Weaponry Factory
(Златоустовская Оружейная Фабрика) and year it made 1899. The other side with
quality and control marks.
The
brass part of the hilt is stamped with unit number. Also letter A - Arsenal
stamped on brass parts of wooden scabbard. The wooden scabbard covered by the
original leather with small loses and small tiny cracks. The wooden grip has 2 thin cracks and shakes. Someone nickeled all the brass parts of the
shashka. The apropriete bayonet is in almost mint condition. The shashka is huge and made for tall cossack!

total length is 40 inches; blade only is 34.25 inches only (22)
