Description

This is a nice, original, "Good For 10¢ In Trade" token from "Fountain Billiards", a Pool Hall that was located in Fountain, Colorado.

I could find no information on when this old Pool Hall or Billiard Parlor operated. It would be fun to pin-down it’s address and owners and just when these tokens were in use. This 10¢ token was apparently the only denomination issued.

Fountain, please see the map below, was named for “Fountain Creek” that ran through it. It began in 1859 and the “Denver and Rio Grande Railroad” had a line going through town. In 1888 a train exploded, leveling the town. It was rebuilt and incorporated in 1900. Today it is home to near 30,000 folks.
