This is a mid 1800’s gas light gasolier that is not electrified. It’s in original condition with no modifications. It has an ornate heavy brass base that has a gas intake. The middle is wood that has a wood burned design. At the top is also made out of brass that holds the tall clear glass chimney globe. The globe is frosted at the bottom and is etched at the top that says “Trade Welsbach Mark No 23”. Unfortunately there’s a chip on the bottom of glass. This is extremely rare to have the original marked glass survive. There was another globe that fits around the chimney glass that is missing. In the top of the brass there’s another mark that reads “Welsbach No 2 Patented”. Underneath the brass vase there’s a copyright mark”GLM 3043”. There’s a small hole on the edge of the base as it looks like it used to be attached to something so I’m not sure if it used to be a wall sconce or possibly attached to something else.

Besides the chip in the globe, this is in very good condition but please look at all the pictures before buying. This is very rare. I found this at a Mennonite yard sale in Palominas Arizona.

The entire light measures 20” tall. The globe alone is 8” tall and has a 1.75” diameter. The base measures 6.5” diameter. Message me with any questions.
