The Ford Cortina’s place in motoring history is assured. Lasting exactly two decades it became the benchmark saloon for family and business motorists during the sixties and seventies, ahead of strong competition from its rivals BMC, Vauxhall and Rootes. This original print covers ‘the Cortina story’ from the Mk1 through to MkV. Nearly four and a half million examples of five distinctly different generations of Cortinas were produced between 1962 and 1982. UK sales for the Ford Cortina totalled 2,816,639, the last Cortina was assembled in July 1982, to be succeeded by the Sierra.
