Description

This is a wounded, torn, veteran, "Five Kyats" note from the "Union of Burma Bank." Undated, these were issued in 1973 when Myanmar was known as Burma.
 
The note pictures Major General Aung San, considered the "Founding Father" of Myanmar. He was the father of the now world-famous Nobel Peace Prize winner, and confined “political prisoner”, Aung San Suu Kyi.
