Hybrid construction with a strong wenge material in the center of the shell, sandwiched between maple materials on both sides. The bright and warm sound characteristic of maple is combined with a hard and heavy sound. It also accurately captures the delicate grain of the snare roll and realizes a wide dynamic range.
Features
Hybrid maple shell
Hybrid shell construction inherited from Yamaha's top-of-the-line PHX series drums. The core material in the center of the shell is made of high-strength wenge from Africa, sandwiched between maple on both sides. This hybrid construction adds a hard, heavy sound to the bright, warm sound that is the hallmark of maple, and provides a wide dynamic range from the midrange to the bass register. Absolute Hybrid Maple clearly expresses the sound sought by drummers from pianissimo (pp) to fortissimo (ff). The bearing edge is set with an obtuse edge shape of 45°/R1.5. It produces a deep and powerful sound with an emphasis on bass. *The edge angle and the roundness of the apex that makes contact with the head are shown. (R=radius)
Hook Lugs
All shells are equipped with hook lugs. This allows for easy and speedy head changes, as well as robust and accurate tuning for high-tension tuning. The lug bases are designed to minimize the ground contact surface. This design maximizes shell sound.
Newly developed strainer
The newly designed strainer is durable and highly stable even when the snare (resonating line) is turned on and off during playing.
2.7mm snare bed
The 2.7mm snare bed, which is deeper than the conventional 1.8mm snare bed, accurately captures the response of the snare (resonating line) and responds to the subtle nuances demanded by the player.
High Carbon Steel Snare
A high carbon 25-strand short-type snare (resonating wire) is used. This produces a powerful resonance.
Die-cast aluminum hoop
Aluminum 3.0mm/10-hole specification. Unique attack and decay feel. Powerful sound and tasteful tone. Produces crisp rim shots.
