Description
This is a veteran, "Mil" or One Thousand Cruzeiros note from the "República Dos Estados Unidos Do Brasil" or the Republic of the United States of Brazil. Undated, this series was issued in 1963.
The note pictures Pedro Alvares Cabral, the discoverer of Brazil. He lived from 1467 or 1468 until 1520. On a voyage from Portugal to India, he discovered Brazil in 1500 by accident.
