Precious paper clip, made in Greece, with classical-themed high-reliefs on both sides, intended for the souvenir sector.
It is made with a metal alloy, in which copper predominates. It was probably made by casting the metal alloy in moulds, and it could be that the casting was injected into closed moulds. We place it very early in the second half of the 20th century, although it could very well be in the first half of the 20th century. The state of conservation is magnificent, maintaining the spring all its elasticity.
On the obverse, the profile bust of Alexander the Great is represented, with a legend on its perimeter in Greek letters. On the reverse, a quadriga is represented on a geometric border, and with two geometric symbols in the sky, one probably representing the sun, and to compensate for its presence, another angular and threatening one on the horses of the quadriga.
The two high reliefs are magnificently made and of the highest quality of execution, with a very balanced composition. This piece has a fantastic patina, so, together with its characteristics, it presents a really attractive appearance.
These types of pieces, although they were manufactured in considerable quantities, are rare to find. Very interesting as a collector's item.
Comments: Since color differences between photos and reality are unavoidable, please keep in mind that color tones in photos are not exactly the same as actual color tones. The piece presents the typical wear of its time, as well as some stains. It has small flaws. The data provided here are unverified personal opinions.
