This is a very attractive, 1950s/1960s vintage Japanese, ladies' kimono michiyuke short coat/jacket, in excellent used condition.

Michiyuke are coats originally to be worn over a full length kimono. Nowadays often worn as a flattering fashion item.

The fabric is a lightweight semi transparent gauze in black with delightful jade green diamond patterns.

The fabric is slightly firm with a matte finish. Unlined to keep the transparency and airiness. Ideal for Summer.

The large white motifs that you can see through the fabric are on my mannequin, NOT the jacket!

The neckline and front are fastened with fabric covered press studs. There are self fabric ties inside.

Traditional kimono styling with square shaped split sleeves. Square neckline.

Michiyuke are cut quite straight, so the hips won't be wider than the bust. Michiyuke are flattering on the tummy area.

The jacket is in excellent used condition, no noticeable marks or flaws. Ideal for holidays and Summer occasions.

Can be worn as a light jacket over trousers, or as a cover up over swimwear etc (with or without an added belt). Easy & light to pack.

Each of my jackets is individually sourced from Japan, and every one is different.

Worn over a simple top, I believe this would best fit a UK size 8-10 (Small). Should not be worn tight as the press studs will open.

Wrist-wrist 49.6” 126cm ...  shoulder to shoulder 25.2” 64cm …  length 34.2” 87cm … sleeve drop 18” 45.5cm …  weight 350 grams

All measurements are approximate. Please check them carefully and make your choice.
