Cast Iron Lion and Two Monkeys Mechanical Bank Antique

This is the "LION AND TWO MONKEYS" Mechanical Bank. This bank was manufactured by the Kyser & Rex Co. circa 1890's. The bank was patented July 17,1883 by Louis Kyser & Alfred Rex. To operate, a coin is placed in the right hand of the front monkey. On depressing the lever on the back of the tree the hand and arm of the monkey drops the coin into the lion's open mouth.

The base was missing so I had to buy a 1900s copy version to complete the money box. the the later version shown in the photo is not as good quality.

These money boxes are becoming extremely rare and hard to find.
