Description

This is a veteran, "Two Dollars" note from the "Bank of Canada". This design was first issued August 5, 1975.

This design, which is now long obsolete, was the first multicolor note and had a then new serial numbering system. The first combination for the type, it was signed by Deputy Governor R. William Lawson and Governor Gerald K. Bouey. They were in office together from March 1, 1973 until February 29, 1984. Canada has long since dispensed with one & two-dollar bills in favor of coins, and no longer prints or circulates them.
