Lot of 10 publications by the National Park Service, packed with information about various U.S. national parks and monuments in the Western states. Most are 48 pages. A few are 64 pages. And one—Zion—is 32 pages.

They provide a deep dive into the history of each park, trail, or monument, educating the reader while offering nice visuals.

From the publisher: “Each book in The Story Behind the Scenery series tells a compelling story through the eyes of an experienced interpreter whose writing reflects true enthusiasm for the park. Complete with running text and interpretive captions, accompanied by abundant full-color photographs….”

These are in very good condition. Four of them have residue from a return address label that was affixed to the opening page, or in one case, on the back of the cover. A fifth has the former owner’s name written at the top of the opening page. I’ve photographed all of these instances for your reference.

Entertaining and informative reading!
