Disneyland 1957 2000 Bob Beerman 8x10 PHOTO Penny Arcade Jack Lemmon & son Chris

Classic Disneyland Treasures from Saturday's Toys presents...    a contemporary print of previously published black & white Bob Beerman photograph of Academy Award winning actor Jack Lemmon (1925 - 2001) with son, Christopher Lemmon (b. 1954)... in the Crystal Arcade / Penny Arcade on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland.  Originally published in 1957 and recreated in this contemporary print in the early 2000's.

Contemporary print measures 8" x 10" (matte finish); and is credited to Photoplay Magazine photographer Robert O. "Bob" Beerman (Feb. 15, 1919 - Aug 7, 1979). After serving in France during WWII as a flight photographer with the US Air Force, the photographer was later contracted with Modern Screen Magazine and is perhaps best known for his photo sessions with screen legend Marilyn Monroe from 1950 - 1953.  Throughout his career, Beerman photographed the greatest names in Hollywood history including Robert Wagner, Natalie Wood, Grace Kelly, Tony Curtis and dozens more.

Photo is professionally printed on Fujifilm / Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper.

Jack Lemmon and his family were among the select group of exclusive VIP guests who were offered personal escorts whenever they were able to visit Disneyland. On Walt's behalf, the management team at Disneyland provided a Tour Guide / Hostess to accompany their group throughout the park in order to enhance the guest experience and to assist with crowd control as they explored the park; often receiving "front of the line" privileges at the most popular Disneyland attractions.

Originally published in the May 1957 issue of Photoplay magazine (with Joan Collins cover).  The photo was captured only weeks before Lemmon and co-star Tony Curtis began production of "Some Like It Hot" with Marilyn Monroe.

The photograph illustrates the once plentiful supply of vintage Mutoscopes that were previously exhibited within the attraction for only a penny per view.  This was one of the more affordable means of viewing a picture story at the beginning of the twentieth century.  Pictured here is every kid's "Disneyland dilemma": trying to get their parents to stop having fun and take them to their favorite attractions!

Represents a desirable addition to any twentieth century Hollywood photograph collection and our only remaining offering of this photograph.

Additional photos of the Crystal Arcade / Penny Arcade for illustration only; not included with listing.

Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 15,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.

Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
