POSTER STAMPS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE EPIC OF AMERICAN MAIL POST IN THE COUNTRYSIDE NESTLE

 

This is a marvellous set of 10 poster stamps edited by Swiss firm Nestlé-Peter-Cailler-Kohler Chocolate. The set belongs to the series Sciences, Discoveries & Explorations edited in the middle 1950s and represents series n. 78 which theme is about the Mail Post in the United States.

From top to bottom and from left to right:

Le courrier à cheval – L’antique diligence - Deux anciennes voitures postales – L’ancien courrier, sur une vignette postale – Distribution du courrier – Boîte postale de compagne – Boîte postale et auto aux couleurs nationales – « Mailomat », machine à  oblitérer automatiquement – Distributeur automatique de timbres-poste – Hélicoptère assurant la liaison postale avec un phare.

The collection is complete which add to the extreme difficulty of having all of them stay together after all this time. The stamps are made of thin paper with dimension 2.28 x 3.14 inches for the big ones and 1.6 x 2.2 inches for the others with text in French on the rear.

The stamps are brand new as they still have their coating glue unused.
