An outstanding pen of impressive size and appearance, crafted to exacting specifications by master maki-e artist Kyusai Yoshida over the course of several months, this pen depicts a Japanese pastoral scene in lacquered urushi decorated in vibrant hiramaki-e.
The quail (uzura) amidst obana grass has been a symbol of autumn, austerity, and martial valour because of the quail's fighting spirit.
Signed by the artist. Scarce model.
Comes with a traditional oriental wood gift box. There is no outer box and no papers.
