Here's a stunning Tiffany & Co. Sterling silver horse racing trophy won by the great Hall of Fame mare Searching for the 1958 Matriarch Handicap at Monmouth Park. This is a covered with Hall of Fame names as not only is Searching a member of the HOF, but so is her trainer Hirsch Jacobs and jockey William "Bill" Hartack. Her owner was Ethel D. Jacobs, who was married to Hirsch and one of the most prominent and successful owners in the history of the sport (she owned the great Stymie, along with many other champions and Hall of Famers). This stands an impressive 14 inches high and weighs 916 grams (32.2 ounces). It is stamped Tiffany & Co., 18188A Makers 6870, Sterling Silver, 925-1000 (with a hallmark). This is in great condition with just some minor scratching. It does have a fair amount of tarnish but that could easily be removed if you wanted. There are no dings or dents. This has some wonderful design work and the engraving reads:
The Matriarch Handicap
