This Hughes & Kettner Red Box 5 is an exceptional guitar cabinet simulator DI for all guitarists out there. The item is still in its original box and comes with a manual and plastic sleeve.

The box is connected between the amplifier Head/power amp and Speaker cabinet and then is connected to your mixing desk or audio interface by an XLR to XLR microphone cable. You should not use this without connecting a speaker load as it could damage your amplifier.

It has five switches, ground or lift; tight or loose, vintage or modern speaker Emulation, large or small speaker enclosure and a 0dB or -26dB pad switch.

This box is a great alternative to mic'ing your amplifier, instead providing an adjustable reliable clean signal to your audio interface, mimicking different types of speakers.

I bought this a while ago but it arrived at the same time as a Boss Waza Tube Amp expander, which does the same thing with attenuation (but costs £1000 more). So it's pretty much as new. Its either powered by 9v battery or 12v dc adaptor not included (see pic of back of item for correct polarity)
