Two very scarce editions of "Il giorno" little poem by the poet and abate from Milan Giuseppe Parini (1729-1799).
Member of Accademia dei Trasformati was one of the most important exponent of Illuminismo and neoclassicismo in Italy.
Parini in 1793 published anonymously the little poem "Il Mattino" (it was not proper that an abte occupied of non religious issues). The opera was really appreciated by critics and Parini began his success.
Two years later in 1795 he published the second part fo the poem "Il Mezzogiorno".
The third part "Sera" was divided into two parts but unfinished and was published posthumous in a collective edition.
This edition of "Il Mattino" is the second one, published the same year of the first one.The title is indicated in the false title page and the editorial data in the last page.
Handwritten note in the title page "del Sig. Ab. Parini milanese".
"Il Mezzogiorno" is here in first edition.There are two versions in the same year with some typographical variations as Imprimatur in pag. 64 printed in nine lines
(as our copy) or on eight lines.
