Reef Zlements Macro Element Mg CA Marine Additives Reef Coral Growth Colour

Item Description

Calcium

Calcium is a macro element which is present in abundance in the reefs around the world. All animals present in our aquariums need calcium along with carbonate, they use it to support their vital functions and grow. It is crucial to supply our tanks with a stable level of calcium.
Calcium is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks very quickly. Therefore, it is important to dose calcium in a stable and constant way. Calcium levels should be checked regularly and adjusted to ensure optimal levels i.e. between 380-450 mg/l.
Calcium Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to their tank Calcium levels ensuring their water levels stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Calcium Zlement increases the Calcium concentration of 100 litres by 20 mg/l.

Magnesium

Magnesium is a macro element which is extremely abundant in the reefs around the world. It forms part of coral skeleton and other animals. It is involved in a variety of cellular processes like cell division, skeleton calcification and others.
Magnesium interacts with calcium and impacts on calcium precipitation, making it harder to happen.
Magnesium is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks fairly quickly. Therefore, it is important to dose Magnesium in a stable and constant way. Magnesium levels should be checked regularly and adjusted to ensure optimal levels i.e. between 1280-1440 mg/l.
Magnesium Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Magnesium levels ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Magnesium Zlement increases the Magnesium concentration of 100 litres by 10 mg/l.

Boron

Boron is a macro element which is present in all reefs around the world.  Although its physiological effects are still being studied, it is believed that impacts on health and colour of LPS and SPS corals.
Boron is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks fairly quickly.
Therefore, it is important to check its levels through an ICP analysis and ensure its stability by dosing a Boron supplement as needed.
Naturally, Boron concentration ranges around 4-5 mg/l.
Boron Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Boron levels, ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
20 ml of Boron Zlement increases the Boron concentration of 100 litres by 1 mg/l.

Strontium

Strontium is a macro element which is present in all reefs around the world.
Although its physiological effects are still being studied, there is evidence that impacts on health of animals. Strontium is associate to calcification of coral skeleton and general coral health and therefore important for maintaining good growth and coral health.
Strontium is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks fairly quickly.
It is important to check Strontium levels through an ICP analysis and ensure its stability by dosing a Strontium supplement as needed.
Naturally, Strontium concentration ranges around 8-10 mg/l.
Strontium Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Strontium levels ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Strontium Zlement increases the Strontium concentration of 100 litres by 1 mg/l.

Potassium

Potassium is widely present in all reefs around the world. It is an important macro element that is involved in a variety of animal tissue and cellular processes like cellular membrane potential, cell communication and signal transduction.
Potassium has impacts on coral health and colour, along with benefiting bacterial colonies.
Potassium is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks quickly.
Therefore, it is important to check its levels through an ICP analysis and ensure its stability by dosing a Potassium supplement as needed.
Naturally, Potassium concentration ranges around 380-450 mg/l with an ideal level of 400mg/l.
Potassium Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Potassium levels ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Potassium Zlement increases the Potassium concentration of 100 litres by 10 mg/l.

Bromine

Bromine is a macro element which is present in all reefs around the world.
Although its physiological effects are still being studied, it is believed that some animals use it to build up defences against predators. Bromine is also believed to support good LPS/SPS coloration and health.
Bromine is a macro element that gets depleted from the water in our tanks quickly.
Therefore, it is important to check its levels through an ICP analysis and ensure its stability by dosing a Bromine supplement as needed.
Bromine concentration naturally sits around 65 mg/l.
Bromine Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Bromine levels, ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Bromine Zlement increases the Bromine concentration of 100 litres by 5 mg/l.
1 Litre Bottle
IMPORTANT NOTE: The use of Ozone and the dosing of Bromine should be handled with care, as both substances together may lead to the formation of Bromate a toxic compound. Therefore the ozonised water should be passed through an activated carbon filter.

Fluorine

Fluorine is a micro element present in reefs all around the world at an average concentration of 1.3 mg/l. Fluorine has a general function of hardening bio-minerals, thus playing an important role in the coral calcification process.
Fluorine also plays a role in zooxanthellae regulation as it has a moderate tissue activity therefore, carefully dosing Fluorine can lead to Acropora tissue clearing and a substantial rise of yellow and green fluorescence under actinic light
Fluorine Zlements used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to fluorine levels ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Fluorine Zlements increases the Fluorine concentration of 100 litres by 0.2 mg/l
1 Litre Bottle
IMPORTANT NOTE: Fluorine dosing in high doses is toxic and capable of making the corals expel their zooxanthellae. It is also capable of irreversibly inhibit photosynthetic enzymes. Do not overdose and ensure adequate levels by regularly testing.

Sulphur/Sulphate

Sulphur is a macro element which is abundantly present in all reefs around the world mostly in the form of Sulphate.Despite Sulphur being a macro element that typically gets replenished with water changes and the addition of foods or other supplements containing high levels of sulphate, sulphur can still get depleted in the tank. Given that Sulphur is highly linked to bacterial activity, the presence of Sulphur in much lower or higher concentrations from the normally found in the seawater can lead to bacterial issues.
If disease in corals occur due to pathogenic bacterial activity (i.e. STN/RTN) it is important to check Sulphur levels through an ICP analysis and ensure it is within the ranges indicated below.
Nonetheless, Sulphate/Sulphur is not yet fully researched and ideal ranges are still to be determined, however we suggest Sulphur to be kept at 900mg/l + -5% (i.e. 865-945mg/l) which have been shown as safe.
Sulphur/Sulphate Zlement used in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, allows any reefer to make corrections to Sulphur levels ensuring the levels in their tank water stay within the best range for their friends.
10 ml of Sulphur Zlement increases the Sulphur concentration of 100 litres by ~3.5 mg/l.
