Any fan of the Roaring 20’s, Jazz and F. Scott Fitzgerald will adore this stunning Flapper. They were considered to be the “New Breed” of young women. The troublesome youth flaunted “unacceptable behavior”. Unacceptable being smoking, drinking, sex and…(gasp) driving. The end of World War I gave birth to these party loving, swing dancing, free spirits. This flapper takes the afternoon off from debauchery to relax with her canine companion. She sits outside, her hands folded around her knee. She wears a long sleeved corseted free flowing long dress. She has bobbed curly hair that curls from beneath her fitted beaded cloche hat. She crosses her legs, showing off her fancy dancing shoes. Relaxed and worry free she gazes into the distance. Her devoted dog, watches her attentively. He is well-groomed with a full mane of thick hair, most likely an Afghan. 100% bronze handmade and fully detailed, this brown patina sculpture was cast using the “Lost Wax Method”. It is mounted on a rectangular black marble base and signed by the artist Chiparus.
