I. History:

a. Pan Am Serie TV series:

Pan Am is a period drama television series created by writer Jack Orman in 2012. Named for the iconic Pan American World Airways, the series features the aircraft pilots and stewardesses of the fictional Pan Am Clipper Majestic, operating in the early 1963. The show stars Christina Ricci, Margot Robbie, Karine Vanasse, and Kelli Garner as the stewardesses; and Michael Mosley and Mike Vogel as the pilots.

The series is well done and sprinkled with some Cold War cloak and dager. It covers some major events of the turbulent year, including Dr King's famous speech, Papa Doc's takeover in Hati, and President Kennedy's assassination.
The series ends on New Year's Eve, 1963, setting the stage for further seasons.ABC canceled the series] That same month, Sony Pictures Television had conversations with Amazon about picking up the series for a second season because of its critical success internationally, having won Best Series at the Rose d'Or TV awards. Sony was unable to reach a deal with Amazon and officially ended the series.

b. Laura Cameron (Margot Robbie):

Margot Robbie plays Laura Cameron, a young, sweet, attractive, but naive stewardess. Newly out of training and Kate Cameron's younger sister.

Given her natural photogenic looks, Laura appears on the cover of Life magazine in her uniform.
She is a source of irritation for her older sister. Who assisted her in running away from her wedding several months prior. She struggles to grow up and prove to her older sister she can stand on her own two feet.
Although immature and naive, she is highly intelligent and learns quickly, is well-liked, and gains the respect of the rest of the crew.

Although her face is not seen, Robbie briefly reprises the role of Laura on a Pan Am flight serving a cocktail, in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in which she also plays actress Sharon Tate

c. Margot Robbie:

Margot Robbie came to America from the land down under Darby, Melbourne Australia. If there was ever an actor whose roll was cast for them decades before they were born Margot Robbie as Barbie fits the bill. The Australian born actress was athletic in her School years and went on to acting shortly after graduation. By the time she was a seasoned actress she already projected the combination of beauty, Blonde hair, and exuberance required for the part. She also had an uncanny resemblance to the original 1959 doll when fitted in a Zebra Stripe one piece bathing suite. It was also fitting in that Australians love their Barbie's.

d. Opinion:

I would definitely recommend this Margot Robbie doll for collectors and little girls who love Barbie. The doll when removed from box and dressed out in the Vintage #984 stewardess out it looks like Laura Cameron. Skillful collectors could easily redo the long hair and remove the pink Bow and add considerably more realism. I did not because it is a different skill set.

Although Matel made a Pan Am Stewardess with uniform and also a remake in the 90's. The Pan Am Barbie was more in line with the Tunic Blue used in the era as well as the movie "Catch me if you can". However if you notice the image of the series Pan Am the stewardess wear a Navy uniform.  The series uniform was deseigned for the series. Barbie Pan Am uniform although true to the era looks difrent than the outfit deseigned for the series Pan Am and in fact the 984 is a much closer match to the Series deseign. Studying the series Image with doll bears this out.
