Here is an interesting one! This is a Torpedo style steam locomotive shell for your prewar American Flyer. As you can see, it is in rough shape but looks structurally good, so you have a good foundation for restoration if you decide to go that route.

This one has started life as a Type 11 steam locomotive 0-4-2 from the 1930s. It is approximately 9.5" long. In 1936, this first Type 11 streamlined Torpedo locomotive was made as a 0-4-2 and the shell for this model was black. It has NO catalog number, so collectors just call it by its set number (1710). In the next year, Flyer made it a 2-4-4 and the shell was now gray. Although it is the original scarcer black shell, of course, you can repaint it anything you want!

You can see it also has one of the original American Flyer weights mounted inside (WO 6027).

CONDITION: Rough shell, but all here with the parts that you see. Ready for you to use as parts or to restore to its 1936 glory.  What you see is what we have. Shell and some of the trim you see only. Pictures show it all.

Shipping

At our discretion, we may add, at our expense, signature confirmation and/or insurance to more expensive orders. NOTE: These features require someone be present at time of delivery, so if you do not want this feature and accept responsibility for the shipment, please let us know ahead of time via Ebay messages. Terms of Sale

We appreciate every single sale and every single customer. Our goal is to have happy train folks worldwide.

We do accept returns within 30 days. Unless there was an error on our end, return shipping is paid by the buyer and the price of the item is refunded upon receipt of iback at Lone Star Trains. If we made a mistake, we pay the return shipping. Items must be in the same condition as when we shipped. We cannot accept returns on orders that were shipped new and then opened. If there is a problem, such as an error in description or condition, we accept returns within 30 days.
