cuervo y sobrinos antique around 1900's not working / for parts

Description

⬛︎ Condition: Used

⬛︎ This is a rare model from the early 1900s, a Cuervo y Sobrinos timepiece. With a diameter of approximately 38mm, it falls within the average size range for contemporary men's wristwatches. As the lugs cannot be removed, it is recommended to use a NATO strap.

The watch is currently non-functional, but considering its age, the overall condition appears to be quite good.

Cuervo y Sobrinos, founded in Havana, considered the "pearl of the Caribbean," in 1882, is the oldest American watch brand. It shone brightly among the social elite and affluent classes of the time but disappeared due to the Cuban Revolution. It is a brand steeped in old history and romance. After a revival in 2003, most Cuervo y Sobrinos watches seen today are post-revival products. Watches from the brand's early days are rare and remarkably evoke a sense of history and romance.

The porcelain dial and the inscription/emblem of Roskof on the case back signify the incorporation of a mechanism devised by watchmaker Roskof. Roskof's invention, the pin-lever escapement, developed based on the pre-existing pin-ankle escapement, is a distinctive feature. Time adjustment follows an old-style method, pressing the pin at the 2 o'clock position and turning the crown.
