A stunning earthenware piece from Royal Doulton's Burslem Pottery in Staffordshire, England!

This hand-painted "Galleon" plate has a series ware number of D2677, which denotes production c. 1906, according to Royal Doulton's "D" Series Pattern Chart. It depicts three ships or galleons at sea surrounded by a band roses. The rose is the symbol of the English Tudor dynasty, and the ten-petaled Tudor rose (termed a double rose) is associated with England. The border is decorated with lustrous gold Tudor roses, which adds opulence to this antique treasure.

Measures 10.25" in diameter.
Excellent, preowned condition. Some crazing in the glaze present.
