Ai #1 of a 6 issue limited series. Written and drawn by various.

This black and white anthology from Atomika Press features some of the top talents in independent comics. First, in "The Big Button" by Barry Windsor-Smith, a curious lad can't help but mash the one button that moves him between dimensions even though he's told not to. In "Warpsmith: Ghostdance," writer Alan Moore and artist Garry Leach revisit the intergalactic dimension-hoppers who last appeared in Miracleman. "Deadface: The Fall of Angels and other Misfits" by Eddie Campbell and Phil Elliott tells the tragic Greek story of Hephaestus, blacksmith to the gods. "Bad Bread" by Graham Marks and John Bolton explores the origin of the surrealist movement. "The Ear of Seeing" is John Bartlett-Bolton's take on prose from Goethe about the separation of the classes.

"Survivor" is Dave Gibbons and Ted McKeever's twist on Superman's psyche. "The Actress and the Bishop Go Boating" is Brian Bolland's irreverent discussion of God and sex. "Wayfarer: Taste of Gold" is Paul Behrer and Una Fricker's tale of rodent adventurers falling prey to greed and pranksters. "Bojeffries: Festus: Dawn of the Dead" is Alan Moore and Steve Parkhouse's almost tragic story of a vampire trying to get by in modern-day London. Bill Sienkiewicz' "Mr. X", Neil Gaiman and Steve Parkhouse's "Heartsprings and Watchstops" and Dean Motter's "Epilogue Prologue" marks the return of the mysterious architect of Radiant City who never sleeps. "Libretto" is a macabre look into the minds of creators McKeever and Gibbons. "The Return of the Purple Claw" is Paris Cullens and Dave Elliott's tribute to a Golden Age hero who might have been. "Brick Top" by Glenn Fabry is an odd tale of a random street encounter that promises mystery. "Flaming Carrot: The Bandit Moons" by Bob Burden finds the vegetable avenger battling thieving satellites. "The Hollow Circus," a grotesque tale by Pete Milligan, Brendan McCarthy and Tom Frame and the manga-like "Morelli-9: Lobster Rumpus" by Dom Regan wind up the collection.
