The locking mechanism is not solid.  The vinyl is partly brittle.  See all the pictures for details of this item.  Be aware that the device you use may affect the quality of the pictures. A computer using the eBay mouse over zoom will enable you to see very fine details.   Please do not assume anything - ask questions before bidding/purchasing.
