The Celestron Omni Barlow is a high quality 2x Barlow lens that doubles the magnification of all 1.25" eyepieces. The Barlow has great features such as 2-element fully multi-coated optics, blackened lens edges and low profile. It works with a wide range of eyepieces, including Plossls, Kelners, MA's and more and will fit into any telescope with 1.25" focuser/adapter or diagonal.
Barlow Lenses offer an easy, economical way to increase the focal range of your eyepieces by doubling their magnifying power. Let’s say you have a 32mm and a 12mm. Add the 2x Barlow Lens, and now you have four magnifications to choose from (32mm, 16mm, 12mm and 6mm). It's like having two eyepieces in one.
The barlow lens also maintains the eye relief of the eyepiece. Eye relief is the distance your eye has to be from the top lens of the eyepiece in order to see the full field of view. When you use a barlow lens with an eyepiece, you get double the magnification, but the eye relief is not affected. This is particularly useful when viewing at high magnification as good eye relief means you don't need to get very close to the lens to see the full field which provides a more comfortable viewing experience.
