Description

The Les Paul Special is a two-pickup version of the Les Paul Junior.
In early 1959, there was a minor change from a single cutaway to a double cutaway.

In the early 1959, the front pickup was mounted quite close to the end of the fingerboard,
The following year, in the early 1960s, his front pickup position was changed to the same position as this model.
Furthermore, in 1961, the body shape became his SG style.

Equipped with two distinctive soap bar P-90 single coil pickups.

Specifications include a mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, head logo with pearl inlay, and nut width of 43mm.

Also, the charm of this individual is that it has a tune-o-matic specification that can be expected to have high tuning accuracy.

The selector on the side of the bridge is also distinctive, but the biggest attraction is the P-90.

The combination of the solid mahogany body and the P-90 is very compatible, and the crisp, thick and smooth sound will be useful regardless of the genre.

Description of item
LesPaul Special made by Kalamazoo. The PU is mounted with a clear bobbin P-90.
3P necks have become common for Gibson since the late 1960s, but this one uses a 1P mahon neck without a volute.
The nut is a regular neck of about 43 mm, and although it may feel a little thin from today's standards, it uses a neck grip that was common at the time.
The double cutaway makes it easy to play in high positions.

Solid and clear sound typical of P90.
Although it is a single coil, it has a strong presence and has an edgy sound that is different from humbuckers.

There are some small scratches from playing over the years, but there is no major damage, and it is in good condition considering its age.
Approximately 60-70% of the frets remain, and there is no noticeable warping/twisting on the neck.
We have confirmed that the truss rod can also operate in both directions.
The electrical connections are in good condition with no gully on the knobs.
Comes with original hard case (2 clasps are damaged).
Bridge (recent genuine part), capacitor x 2, some wiring materials replaced.
A strap pin has been added.
