This vintage sterling silver ring and french wire earrings set came from the estate of a local lady who bought lots of jewelry online.  I believe that the stones in this set are tanzanite and vary in colors of blue/violet depending on the light.  No two are the same.  Since the jewelry still has tags attached and appear unworn, I am perplexed that the table of the ring stone looks scratched (under the loupe) or could it be that tanzanite has lots of striations and spots which  reflect as scratches.  Certainly, not apparent to the naked eye.  The ring is a size 10, the face is 1 1/2" by 1" with a 10mm by 14mm stone.  The dangling  portion of the earrings  is  1 1/4" long and 7/8" wide .  with the french wire they appear as 1 5/8" long.

  Total weight of all three pieces  is 26 grams.
