For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has on offer an outstanding Chase-Durer 1000XL UDT gold color chronograph in the gold stainless steel case, black dial (rarer and cooler than the brown dial references) and bracelet.  This one has long since been sold out.  This is a feature and complication rich fine timepiece which is immediately recognizable from a prior black on black reference (a non-XL) featured in the great, great spy TV show, Burn Notice.  Jeffrey Donovan ("Michael Weston" was the character) wears the hell out of his 1000 UDT in many episodes in the TV show.  Also, the UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) original was made in collaboration with special forces and military personnel to provide durability and functionality that they value in the field.  This one, a larger and more modern reference, makes an impressive, masculine statement on the wrist.  Original collateral of box, warranty card and tag is provided with this timepiece.  Plus I am throwing in some cool Burn Notice style sunglasses as a bonus item.

I was delighted to track down one of these which have long been sold out although it took me about six months to find this one.  You are getting exactly what I got from my supplier.  I am a superfan of the show and welcome all challenges in trivia about the show!

There is quite the rarity and scarcity factor for this one.  That scarcity factor exists for the first generation, original black/black C-D non-Big Date version, as well.  And the black case, black dial twin of this one (same size and capabilities just different case, bezel, bracelet color) is also super-rare but I am occassionally able to find one of those.

Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity.

We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces.  If you have questions regarding the specifications, provenance, history, etc., no problem.  Just ask if you have a question!

We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular.  We always have the inventory in our possession.  We do not do the broker thing.

The condition of this watch is as follows:  Outstanding condition as evidenced in the photos.  Let the pictures be your definitive source of the condition and what is included in the listing.  As always, ask for additional details or pictures before placing a bid or purchasing.  We are always pleased to help prospective buyers make fully informed decisions.  FYI, my quality control check for a quartz watch like this involves setting the watch, checking the timekeeping accuracy (to + / - 10 seconds a day), activating the chronograph a few times (start/stop/reset), and ensuring the day and date change over in the early morning hours as it should.

Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision.

With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include:

1.     This watch is beefy at 49mm (inclusive of crown) and about 44-45mm (Base Panerai Luminor size) works well on a large male wrist.  I can recommend this watch for somebody with a wrist size of 16cm in circumference and larger.  I have an average size wrist and this watch only still works.  It definitely makes a statement and is classically oversized.  In the gold color it is kind of flashy but still has and a high-readiblity color and dial set-up, the watch wears true to form and is all of 49mm on the wrist.  This one stands-out!  This reference is substantially bigger than the original reference in part to allow for easier reading of the many complications.

2.     This is an understated but clearly mission-driven chronograph --- it is an impressive, bold statement while being "flashy" and ready for the super-cool nightclubs and bars and restaurants.  The caseback displays the impressive specifications (such as 900ft water resistance) makes no apologies for its design and tool watch intentions.  The screw-down crown and screw-down chronograph pushers underscore the sport and military timing functionality of this impressive timepiece.  I like to think of this one as the Sam Axe version as it goes well with a mojito and a tropical shirt or maybe a striking in-your-face suit.

3.  The split second chronograph (in the red/yellow subregister) provides a visual eye-candy and is useful when absolute precision is needed.  The high quality, well anchored, bracelet really holds the timepiece to the wrist very well.

4.  Saphire crystal over the stark black dial adds to the strong and impressive build quality.  Anti-reflective treatment on the expensive crystal keeps the functionality design ethos in tact.

5.  This is a chronograph watch that will last decades.  I cannot overstate how substantial and well-made this watch feels in person.  From the tachymeter bezel (with luminous "pip") to the bracelet to the high-visibility functionality, this one is made for serious duty.

6.  Big Date and Day of the Week (new on this more modern reference/remake) provides additional functionality and are relatively easy to read despite the busy military dial.

7.  This watch is aimed for a military or pilot type of individual --- somebody who is not afraid to get their hands dirty but still wants something unique, bold, classic in a gold and black colorway and very high-quality without paying for a bunch of magazine advertisement hype.  Personally, this is my kind of timepiece in terms of value and design.

8.  Because the likely buyer of this is a tactical, military type and probably a fan of the show Burn Notice, I am including as a bonus a decent quality pair of sunglasses (similar to those worn by Michael Weston in Burn Notice).  Consider this a bonus, the sunglasses are not the super-expensive Oliver Peoples "Victory" that Weston sports in the TV show... but they are decent, have UV protection, etc. and complete the look rather well.

9.  Box and other collateral (shown in pic #2 --- the "everything photo") complete the listing and have some wear signs (bending, etc.) of storage, transit, etc.

The last three photos are stock photos from the TV show and they show the first generation timepiece reference and the Oliver Peoples sunglasses.  These photos are not included in the listing.  How cool is Michael Weston?  And the last picture is of Sam Axe which, again, I think is more the style that goes with this cool timepiece.

We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you).  Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside).  In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation.  We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue.  100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way.

Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get.  The only exceptions are the black case that we photograph on top of to prevent scratching and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great.  The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond.

And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some.

Thank you for your consideration,
