Antique pine bookcases are hard to find so the shell of this piece was provided by a vintage pine armoire. With one board width removed from the sides and the original backboards and crown molding retained, with the drawer reduced in depth, we get a bookcase which, though not an original antique, has all the characteristics of an old pine piece. Each one is unique. This one has a plain frieze beneath a shapely ogee crown molding. The front corners bear shallow flutes topped with an acorn corbel. It is made from beautiful wood with a great color. With three shelves providing four generous spaces for books or other display.
