The Athame

This is a gorgeous athame made from a lovely piece of Avalon Willow wood found in the land surrounding Glastonbury - the Isle of Avalon.

I've given the wood a coat of beeswax polish and pyrographed a spiral onto its end.

The blade is a vintage cutlery blade silver plated and is not sharp in any way, nor should it be sharpened -the silver plate is worn off in many places on the blade - its obviously been used and loved - please check all pictures.

The athame measures about 9.5 inches/24.5cm long, and as with many of my items is one of a kind.   

Athame's are ritual tools, not intended to be used to cut objects with - The blade is not sharp, nor can it be sharpened.
